UNC Asheville's Writers at Home Series Continues April 19;
Student Scholarship Winners to Read

UNC Asheville's Writers at Home Series continues with readings by three UNC Asheville student creative writing scholarship winners. Elizabeth Gagnon, Tierney Oberhammer and Alex Williamson will read from their recent work at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St., downtown Asheville. The event is free and open to the public.

Gagnon, Oberhammer and Williamson all received scholarships to UNC Asheville during the 2007-08 academic year. Currently, Gagnon is a senior majoring in creative writing. Her specialty is fiction and she is currently working on a novella. Oberhammer, who graduated last December, studied literature and writes short stories. She plans on attending graduate school. Williamson, a junior majoring in literature with an emphasis in creative writing, writes poetry. He is also pursuing a teacher licensure for 9th-12th grade.

The Writers at Home Series is sponsored by UNC Asheville's Great Smokies Writing Program. For more information, call 828/232-5122.
