UNC Asheville's Writers at Home Series
continues with readings by three UNC Asheville student creative
writing scholarship winners. Elizabeth Gagnon, Tierney Oberhammer
and Alex Williamson will read from their recent work at 3 p.m.
Sunday, April 19, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St.,
downtown Asheville. The event is free and open to the public.
Gagnon, Oberhammer and Williamson all received scholarships to UNC
Asheville during the 2007-08 academic year. Currently, Gagnon is a
senior majoring in creative writing. Her specialty is fiction and
she is currently working on a novella. Oberhammer, who graduated
last December, studied literature and writes short stories. She
plans on attending graduate school. Williamson, a junior majoring in
literature with an emphasis in creative writing, writes poetry. He
is also pursuing a teacher licensure for 9th-12th grade.
