UNC Asheville's Lead Poisoning Prevention
program will collaborate to offer a course on "Radon, Lead, and
Mold: What You Need to Know to Protect Your Clients" from 1 to 5
p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at the Skyland Fire Department, 9 Miller
Rd. The cost for the course is $45 and the deadline to register is
Tuesday, May 19.
The course will be taught by Linda Block from UNC Asheville's Lead
Poisoning Prevention Program, Ashley Featherstone from WNC Regional
Air Quality Agency and Catherine Rosfjord from the N.C. Radon
Program. The class will cover radon tests and mitigation systems,
the identification of lead hazards and the identification and
removal of mold. Participants will learn the proper way to test a
home for radon and what to do if results are high. The four-hour
class is aimed at real estate agents, property managers and home
owners. Real estate agents can receive four continuing education
credits upon completion of the course.
