UNC Asheville's Music Department will continue
its spring concert season with three performances in February,
ranging from jazz to chamber music. The concerts feature local
musicians, University faculty and student musicians. The concerts
will be held in UNC Asheville's Lipinsky Auditorium.
Keowee Chamber Music will perform "Acoustic Dessert," at 12:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 4. The concert will feature music from Bach to Bossa
Nova, with Kate Steinbeck on modern wooden flute and Amy Brucksch on
guitar. The event is co-sponsored by UNC Asheville's Cultural and
Special Events. Admission is free.
UNC Asheville's music faculty will take the stage for a recital at
12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. Admission is free.
The Big Band and Studio 18 Vocal Jazz Ensemble, under the direction
of David Wilken and Melodie Galloway, will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday,
Feb. 22. A wide variety of music will be featured, including pieces
by Oliver Nelson, Johnny Mercer and Duke Ellington. Admission is $5.
