UNC Asheville's Dance Program is forming a new dance company this spring. Local dancers are invited to audition for the company during an open call from 1:45-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, in the University's Dance Studio, lower level of the Health & Fitness Center. The audition will include a brief warm-up, followed by short audition sequences in modern, jazz and African styles. All interested dancers with intermediate to advanced skills are welcome to audition; no pre-registration or resume is required. However, Dance Company members must be able to rehearse from 1:45-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and 1:45-4 p.m. on Fridays through early May.
