TheatreUNCA will stage the Michael Slade drama
"And a Child Shall Lead" November 18-22 at UNC Asheville's Carol
Belk Theatre. Curtain is 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday with a 2 p.m.
Sunday matinee. All shows are open to the public.
"And a Child Shall Lead" is the heroic true story of children coming
of age in Terezin, the Jewish establishment created by the Nazis as
a death camp way-station. There, the children use determination and
artistic expression to maintain hope. Their actual poems and stories
are woven into the fast-paced drama, evoking the timeless story of
children struggling through war.
This production is directed by seniors Virginia Aughe and Sam Woods.
The cast and crew is also made up of UNC Asheville students.
Tickets for all performances are $10 general admission, $8 for
senior citizens and $5 for students. Because of the intimate size of
UNC Asheville's Carol Belk Theatre and the often heavy demand for
tickets, advance purchase is strongly advised. Tickets may be
ordered online at
www.unca.edu/drama or by phone by calling 828/232-2291
between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Tickets are also available at the
box office one hour before curtain.
