College for Seniors Offers Summer Term

Reuter Center
College for Seniors classes will be held in the Reuter Center
on the UNC Asheville campus

Summer presents the perfect opportunity to learn new things with others who share similar interests and curiosity. Choose from 48 summer courses in UNC Asheville’s nationally renowned College for Seniors, a program of N.C. Center for Creative Retirement. With no tests, grades or prerequisites, the program offers lifelong learners a range of six-week classes in contemporary issues, film and theater, finance, history, language and literature, music and dance, personal development, philosophy and religion, psychology, arts and crafts, computers, and wellness.

Participants can try their hand at rug hooking, investing basics or beginning genealogy. There are also opportunities to learn yoga, pilates or T'ai Chi or explore American musical theater, poetry or the human brain. There’s something for everyone and great companionship, too.

The special College for Seniors summer term runs from June 22 to July 31. The fee is $60 for the term and allows participants to register for unlimited classes. Students must also pay a $50 annual North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement membership fee. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes will meet in UNC Asheville's Reuter Center.

For more information or to enroll, call the North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement at 828/251-6140 for more information.
