UNC Asheville’s Career Center will host a panel discussion on “Diversity and Leadership in the Workplace” at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union, Mountain Suites. The panel will address the importance of diversity and leadership related to workplace awareness, as well as overcoming personal challenges related to issues of diversity. The panel is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

Panelists include UNC Asheville alumnus Esteve Coll-Larrosa, business development and marketing manager for the United Services Credit Union; Althea Gonzalez, manager of health parity at WNC Interpreter Network; LaVonne Griffin, director of the Cultural Arts Center; Ed Manning, partner at Culture Quest; and Bernadette Thompson, independent living counselor for the Vocational Rehabilitation/Independent Living Rehabilitation Program.

Co-moderating the panel will be Jacquelyn Hallum, director of health careers and diversity education at MAHEC, and Bryan Schaffer, associate professor of management and accountancy at UNC Asheville.
