UNC Asheville's Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union Mountain Suites. The meeting, which immediately follows commencement, is open to the public. Portions of the meeting will be closed to the public under the provision of the North Carolina Open Meetings Act.

The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees has 13 members; eight are appointed by the UNC Board of Governors and four are appointed by the governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association president, who is elected by the student body, also sits on the board. The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees promotes the sound development of the University and serves as advisor to the Board of Governors and the chancellor.
