UNC Asheville's Board of Trustees will meet
Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24, in UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library
Red Oak Conference Room. The meeting is open to the public. Portions
of the meeting may be closed to the public under the provision of
the North Carolina Open Meetings Act.
The board will gather for a light lunch at noon on Monday, March 23,
and will convene its meeting at 12:30 p.m. with remarks from Board
of Trustees Chair Al Whitesides. A presentation on branding and
marketing by the Widmeyer Group will follow. Program and committee
reports will be given, including those from Finance and Real
Property, Academic Affairs, Alumni & Development, Athletics, Audit,
External Affairs and Student Affairs. The meeting will wrap up with
work on by-laws, a closed session and the consent agenda. It will
adjourn at 4:45 p.m.
On Friday, March 24, the board will meet for a continental breakfast
at 8 a.m. The meeting will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. with a
presentation on recent campus achievements. Chair's remarks and a
briefing by Student Government President Nick Ladd will follow. The
meeting will adjourn at noon.
The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees has 13 members; eight are
appointed by the UNC Board of Governors and four are appointed by
the governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association
president, who is elected by the student body, also sits on the
board. The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees promotes the sound
development of the University and serves as advisor to the Board of
Governors and the chancellor.
