Students in 3rd-6th grades will have the
opportunity to stimulate their imaginations and develop critical
thinking skills at UNC Asheville's Super Summer Camp this June. The
camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 16-20,
on UNC Asheville's campus. Early morning drop-off and late afternoon
pick-up options are also available.
Super Summer combines the fun of day camp with the excitement of
academic learning in the arts, culture and community, technology,
math and the sciences. Each of the four segments are taught by
experienced classroom teachers and assisted by UNC Asheville student
counselors. Cost is $215 for the week.
This year's theme is "Changing Earth/Growing Asheville." During the
week, campers explore the UNC Asheville campus as they make new
friends and learn about the world and their community. They will
uncover hidden treasures of the Botanical Gardens, tell a story with
clay, and meet city and county leaders as they find their place in
Asheville's past, present and future.
The camp provides snacks in the morning and afternoon, but students
should bring their own bagged lunch Monday-Thursday. On Friday,
campers will receive a pizza party as part of the finale
celebration.
