Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet

Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet

UNC Asheville will host the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet and Friends in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at UNC Asheville's Reuter Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet performs a wide variety of music ranging from Early Renaissance to rock 'n' roll. They have performed in Russia and the United Kingdom and at Carnegie Hall. The group also works to educate young musicians as the Quintet in Residence at Western Carolina University, hosting workshops, master classes or school shows.

The performance will begin with "An American Heritage Fantasy" and "Jazz Miniature for Brass Quintet." The show will feature Western Carolina University's School of Music faculty members as guest artists. The program will wrap up with Leroy Anderson's "Bugler's Holiday and Lew Pollack's "That's a Plenty."
