UNC Asheville Foundation Board of Directors Elects New Members

The UNC Asheville Foundation recently elected five new members to its board of directors. Each will serve a three-year term.

At the August meeting, Robert Roberts, chair, announced the new directors: Michael Andry of Asheville, market executive of U.S. Trust -- Private Wealth Management Group of Bank of America; David Hammett of Asheville, market executive of RBC Bank; Charles E. Nesbitt of Asheville, regional vice president of BB&T; Daniel F. Scannell of Asheville, vice president/branch management of wealth management at Citi Smith Barney; and David Sweatt of Asheville, private investor and retired commercial banker.

These new members of UNC Asheville's Foundation Board will join current members: Charles Atkins, Cherokee Equity Holdings; Rob Bowen, UNC Asheville Drama Department; William Boyum, Cherokee Supreme Court; David Brown, Merrill Lynch; Guadalupe Chavarria, Studio Chavarria; Bobby Daugherty; Al Davis, Capital Bank; J.W. Davis, Carolina First Bank; Charles Frederick, Southern Community Bank & Trust; Dianna Goodman; George Goosmann III; Harry Harrison, YMI Cultural Center; James Hegglund; Tammy Huffman, UNC Asheville Management and Accountancy Department; Nicholas Ladd, UNC Asheville Student Government Association; Craig Madison, The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa; George Morosani, George Morosani & Associates; Kenneth Partin, Givens Estate; Neal Rhoades, SouthEast Strategies; Robert Roberts, First Citizens Bank; Robby Russell, Wachovia Community Banking; Robert Sipes, Progress Energy; Rob Tatum, UNC Asheville Economics Department; G. Edward Towson III, Gould Killian CPA Group; Charles Wood Jr., Volvo Construction Equipment; Frosene Zeis, ZTM Sales & Service.
