Aspiring musicians will have the opportunity to engage in intense instruction and melodious fun at UNC Asheville's second annual "Music in the Mountains: Western North Carolina Summer Music Camp." The overnight camp, set for June 24-29, is open to middle and high school students.

UNC Asheville music faculty and band directors from region's middle and high schools will lead sessions on jazz improvisation, ensembles, conducting and music theory. Private lessons will also be available for a small fee.

New programs available this year include a special camp for double reed players and CEU certification for band directors.

Registration is $365 or $245 for commuter students. Meals will be provided. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and must include a $100 non-refundable deposit. Enrollment is limited; early application is advised.
