UNC Asheville’s Music Department will continue
its 2007-08 concert season with three concerts in September. Events
will take place in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium.
The Untold Ensemble, an innovative group of multi-instrumentalists,
will kick off the September concerts with a free performance at
12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5. Ensemble members include Brad
Herbert, Cameron Juroff, Kari Richmond and Matthew Richmond. The
Asheville-based group, which formed in 2006, will perform a number
of pieces including "Marimba Spiritual" by Minoru Miki.
Pianist Bradley Martin will perform a free concert at 12:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept 12. The program will include pieces by Franz Liszt
and Franz Schubert. Martin, who serves as musical director for
Western Carolina University's Musical Theatre Program, is currently
completing a doctorate in piano performance at the University of
Colorado.
Musicians and Tango dancers will join together on stage at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 29. Music will be provided by flutist Judi Lampert,
pianist Elsa O'Farrell and guitarist Roger Cope. Tango dancers are
Robert Wooton and Nancy Hayes. General admission is $5 at the door.
A special free, pre-concert performance by the UNC Asheville Flute
Choir will be held at 7:10 p.m. in Lipinsky Auditorium Lobby.
