UNC Asheville’s Music Department will continue
its 2007-08 concert season with four concerts in November. All
performances will be held at UNC Asheville's Lipinsky Auditorium.
Tickets are $5 general admission at the door.
The UNC Asheville Jazz Combos will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday,
Nov. 1. The groups will perform vocal and instrumental selections
under the direction of David Wilken.
Wayne Kirby will conduct a performance of Franz Josef Haydn's
"London" Symphony No. 104 by the University's Chamber Orchestra at 4
p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. The orchestra will also perform Suite in A
minor by Georg Philipp Telemann featuring special guest Charles
McKnight, recorder soloist, and Elsa O'Farrell, harpsichordist.
UNC Asheville's Concert Band will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.
John Entzi serves as director.
The Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Matthew Richmond,
will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29. The performance
will feature world-class drummer Rande Sanderbeck, professor of
percussion at East Tennessee State University.
