UNC Asheville to Host Panel Discussion on Gay Marriage

UNC Asheville's Multicultural Student Programs will host a panel discussion on "Civil Unions, Gay Marriage, Homophobia: A Problem of Moral and Spiritual Development?" at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in UNC Asheville's Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. A panel of UNC Asheville professors and community leaders will discuss the role of scripture, the right to marry and gay enlightenment. The event is free and open to the public.

Panelists are Jim Driggers, UNC Asheville lecturer of literature and language; Lorena Russell, UNC Asheville associate professor of literature and language; John Grant, minister of Mt. Zion Baptist Church; and Alphonso McGlenn, minister of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church.
