UNC Asheville Faculty Awards Presented

The 2007 UNC Asheville annual faculty awards were presented at the University’s final faculty meeting and at the spring commencement ceremony.

The following awards were presented:

Distinguished Teacher of the Year: environmental studies Professor J. William Miller

Ruth and Leon Feldman Professorships for outstanding scholarship and university service: chemistry Professor Bert Holmes and management and accountancy Professor Don Lisnerski

Distinguished Teacher Award in Humanities: Ann Dunn, Humanities Program lecturer

 Distinguished Teacher Award in Social Sciences: Bryan Schaffer, assistant professor of management and accountancy

Distinguished Teacher Award in Natural Sciences: Cathy Whitlock, mathematics lecturer

Distinguished Teacher Award for Untenured Faculty: Susan Reiser, computer science lecturer

Distinguished Teacher Award for Part-Time Faculty: Hal Marienthal, mass communication adjunct instructor

University Service Council Award: Dee Eggers, associate professor of environmental studies

University Research Council Award for scholarly and creative achievement: Kitti Reynolds, associate professor of environmental studies, and Bob Yearout, professor of management and accountancy
