The third annual “Diversity in the Workplace: Finding a Common Ground” panel presentation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union, Mountain Suites. A panel of community leaders will discuss the importance of diversity in the workplace and their own experiences overcoming challenges related to diversity. The event is free and open to the public.

Panelists are Brian Davis, special events assistant at Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa and UNC Asheville alumnus; Johnnie Grant, publisher of The Urban News; Eric Howard, social worker at Randolph Learning Center; Hope Huskey, business development specialist at the Cherokee Native American Business Development Center and UNC Asheville alumna; and Sarah Nunez, consultant for non-profit organizations and special events and UNC Asheville alumna. The panel will be co-moderated by Deborah Miles, The Center for Diversity Education executive director, and Bryan Schaffer, UNC Asheville assistant professor of management and accountancy.
