UNC Asheville to Host Panel Discussion on Careers in the Creative ArtsUNC Asheville will host a panel presentation on careers in the creative arts at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union, Mountain Suites. A panel of community leaders will discuss their work in fields ranging from theater to digital media. Participants will have the opportunity to network with the panelists following the presentation. The event is free and open to the public. Panelists are Michael Darnell, UNC Asheville alumnus and independent writing and gaming contractor; Angie Flynn-McIver, North Carolina Stage producing director; Leslie Klinger, Biltmore Estate associate curator; David Papandrea, president of Machristdan Media Solutions/Big Deal Events; and John Yenne, Asheville Citizen-Times digital media director. The panel will be moderated by UNC Asheville Drama Department Chair Rob Bowen and Don Diefenbach, UNC Asheville associate professor of mass communication. The panelists will draw from their own careers to provide professional advice and knowledge. The event is sponsored by UNC Asheville's Career Center, Academic Affairs and the Integrative Liberal Studies Topical Cluster Coordinators, Drama Department, History Department, Mass Communication Department, Multimedia Arts & Sciences Department, History Student Association, Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society, Multimedia Arts Council and the Blue Echo radio station.
