Registration is now open for Effective Teacher Training, a required course for teaching and substituting in some North Carolina school systems, including Buncombe County and Asheville public schools.

Effective Teacher Training will cover a variety of subject areas, including North Carolina public school policy and course of study, behavior management, substitute packets, emergency procedures and legal issues. The course may qualify for renewal certification credit for teachers who receive prior approval by their school districts.

The class will meet from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on four consecutive Saturdays January 26- February 16 on the UNC Asheville campus. Cost is $75 plus a textbook, which is available at the UNC Asheville bookstore. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. Three continuing education credits are available with a $15 processing fee due with a completed form at the end of class.
Class size is limited. Early registration is suggested.
