UNC Asheville's Board of Trustees will meet
from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in UNC Asheville's Highsmith
University Union Mountain Suites.
The board will gather for lunch at noon and convene its meeting at
12:15 p.m. with remarks from Board of Trustees Chair Janice Brumit.
Tristyn Card, UNC Asheville senior and Student Government president,
is scheduled to give a briefing at 12:30 p.m. followed by remarks by
Chancellor Anne Ponder.
The Board is scheduled to hold a closed session at 2 p.m. Committee
and program reports will follow in open session, including those
from Student Affairs and Alumni & Development. Written reports will
be submitted by Academic Affairs, Athletics, Diversity, External
Relations and Finance. The meeting will adjourn at 5 p.m.
The meeting is open to the public. Portions of the meeting may be
closed to the public under the provision of the North Carolina Open
Meetings Act.
The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees has 13 members; eight are
appointed by the UNC Board of Governors and four are appointed by
the governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association
president, who is elected by the student body, also sits on the
board. The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees promotes the sound
development of the University and serves as advisor to the Board of
Governors and the chancellor.
