UNC Asheville Board of Trustees to Meet May 15-16UNC Asheville’s Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday and Wednesday, May 15-16, in UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library Red Oak Conference Room. The board will gather for lunch at noon Tuesday and will convene its meeting at 12:30 p.m. with remarks from Board of Trustees Chair Janice Brumit. Chancellor Anne Ponder will give remarks at 1:15 p.m. Board member Joe Damore, president and CEO of Mission Health and Hospitals, will give a talk on “Leading Change in a Dynamic World” at 2:15 p.m. The meeting will adjourn at 4:30 p.m. A reception and dinner for trustees will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. On Wednesday, May 16, the board will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. The meeting will convene at 8:30 a.m. with committee and program reports, including those from Academic Affairs, Alumni and Development, Athletics, Audits, Diversity, External Relations, Finance and Real Property, Personnel, and Student Affairs. Brumit will give closing remarks. The meeting is open to the public. Portions of the meeting may be closed to the public under the provision of the North Carolina Open Meetings Act. The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees has 13 members; eight are appointed by the UNC Board of Governors and four are appointed by the governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association president, who is elected by the student body, also sits on the board.
