UNC Asheville Celebrates Homecoming February 24-25UNC Asheville will hold its Homecoming 2006 celebration February 24-25. Special events range from the annual Homecoming Parade and basketball games to a bonfire gathering and art show. A number of Homecoming 2006 events are open to the public. Events are free unless otherwise indicated. They are as follows: **February 24 – UNC Asheville will celebrate the opening of New Hall, its newest classroom building, with a reception at 2 p.m. Guided tours of the building will be offered every 15 minutes beginning at 1 p.m. Both events begin in the New Hall lobby, located between Carmichael and Zageir Halls. **February 24 – The ninth annual UNC Asheville Homecoming Parade rolls along University Heights at 3:30 p.m., beginning at UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union and ending outside the Justice Center, where a pep rally will follow. **February 24 – Join others for s’mores and a bonfire at 6 p.m. at Mullen Park, across the street from Robinson Hall. **February 25 – A basketball doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. when the women’s basketball team takes on Liberty at the Justice Center. At 4:30 p.m., the men’s basketball team will face off against Charleston Southern. General admission is $8 for reserved seating, $6 general admission and $3 for children ages 12 and under. ** February 25 -- The annual UNC Asheville Alumni Art Exhibition opening reception will be held at 7 p.m. in the Highsmith University Union Gallery.
