U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band to Perform at UNC Asheville
The highly acclaimed U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. Led by Commander and Conductor Major Douglas C. Monroe, their concerts feature traditional American classics, rousing marches and Broadway show tunes. Admission is free and open to the public but tickets are required. The U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band is widely known for its exceptional live shows and more than 30 recordings. Formed in 1941, the unit consists of some 45 active-duty personnel. Each year the band performs an average of 40 times for more than 60,000 people throughout the eastern seaboard.
