Asheville Graduate Center to Offer UNC Greensboro Library and Information Studies Courses

Interested in preparing for a career as a librarian? The Asheville Graduate Center will offer courses in UNC Greensboro’s Department of Library and Information Studies part-time in fall 2007.

Established in 1984, the Asheville Graduate Center is located at UNC Asheville and administered by the Office of the Provost. The Center offers graduate from the University of North Carolina system institutions to students in Western North Carolina. Classes are held in the evenings to accommodate the needs of working students.

UNC Greensboro’s Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) is accredited by the American Library Association. Within the MLIS program, students may choose areas of specialization in public, academic, special, or school librarianship. Graduates of the program find careers in public, academic, school, corporate and museum libraries.

For more information about the MLIS program or the admissions process, call the Asheville Graduate Center at 828/251-6099 or e-mail bsvenson@unca.edu.
