UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library Host Three Art Exhibitions
UNC Asheville will host three art exhibitions in Ramsey Library beginning April 3. All shows are free and open to the public. UNC Asheville alumni who participated at past National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) events will exhibit work April 3-8 at Blowers Gallery, located on the main floor of Ramsey Library. A variety of mediums will be represented, including ceramics, painting, printmaking and drawings. The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the 20th annual NCUR at UNC Asheville, held April 6-8. UNC Asheville, a pioneer in engaging students in research, organized the first conference in 1986. For more information about the conference, call UNC Asheville’s NCUR 20 Office at 828/251-6963 or e-mail ncur20@unca.edu. A full schedule of events is available online at http://ncur.unca.edu. An exhibition entitled “Renewal,” featuring some 15 photographs by UNC Asheville senior psychology major Amanda Baranski, will be on view April 3-30 at Ramsey Library’s Third Floor Gallery. The show is the culmination of Baranski’s work toward a minor in art from UNC Asheville. An opening reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in the gallery. UNC Asheville senior Lillian Byers will present “Growth,” a ceramic sculpture exhibit featuring some six pieces, in the Ramsey Library lobby April 3-28. Byers, a French and art major, has studied in France and at the Penland School of Crafts in Western North Carolina. The galleries are open during regular library hours. For hours of operation, call UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library at 828/251-6546. Media Contacts:
