UNC Asheville Holds Fifth Annual Multimedia Arts and Sciences Juried Student ExhibitionUNC Asheville’s Fifth Annual Multimedia Arts and Sciences Juried Student Exhibition will be on view April 14-25 at UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 14, in the gallery. Multimedia artist Joshua Davis juried the show. The exhibition is free and open to the public. UNC Asheville students will exhibit original digital works, including computer art, Web applications, video, gaming and animation. Their subjects cover a wide range, from personal expression to commercial application, from communication and information technology to science, architecture, literature and music. Davis designs print and interactive works for corporations, private collectors and museums. He has exhibited his work internationally, including at the Tate Modern in London, Ars Electronica in Austria, Le Centre Pompidou in France and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in New York. Davis is also an instructor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The gallery is located on the ground floor of UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union. The gallery is free and open to the public from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
