UNC Asheville Presents Faculty Recital Featuring Flutist Judi Lampert
Judi Lampert, noted flutist and UNC Asheville adjunct music professor, will hold a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. Lampert will be joined by pianist Elsa O’Farrell, flutist Eldred Spell and classical guitarist Steven Walter. The program will feature all-American musical works by Copeland, Hoover, Beaser, Schocker, Schickele and Mancini. Admission is $5 at the door. Lampert holds a master’s degree in music performance from Illinois State University. Upon graduation, she became a professional musician. She played with the Illinois Symphony for 20 years and soloed with several orchestras in Illinois and North Carolina. During her career, Lampert has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Orchestra Hall in Chicago. A longtime resident of Asheville, Lampert regularly plays with the Asheville and Greenville Symphonies, performs at Biltmore Estate as a soloist, and teaches classes at the University as well as private lessons.
