UNC Asheville's Family Business Forum to Hold Talk on Leisure

UNC Asheville’s Family Business Forum will conclude its 2005-06 workshop series with a talk on “The Importance of Being Lazy: In Praise of Play, Leisure and Vacations” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union Alumni Hall. Borrowing from his book of the same title, corporate ethics expert Al Gini will explore the benefits of leisure in a fast-paced lifestyle. A dinner will follow the presentation.

Gini is author of the books “My Job, My Self: Work and Creation of the Modern Individual” and “Why It’s Hard to be Good” as well as the plays “Working Ourselves to Death” and “Letters of a Consumaholic.” A noted speaker, Gini is co-founder and editor of “Business Ethics Quarterly” and philosophy professor at Loyola University Chicago.
Pre-registration for the workshop is required. The program is open to forum members and their guests. A limited number of seats are available for family business owners interested in membership.

For more information, call Richard Lasher, UNC Asheville’s Family Business Forum executive director, at 828/251-6797, voice mail box 8003.
