UNC Asheville's Family Business Forum to Present Talk on Family Dynamics and GovernanceUNC Asheville’s Family Business Forum will host a talk on “Family Dynamics and Family Governance” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Chestnut Ridge Room of UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center. Guest speaker Kelin Gersick will discuss the basic concepts in family structure, process and development and argue the relevance of family dynamics to governance in family business. An optional lunch buffet will follow the program. Gersick is cofounder and a senior partner of Lansberg, Gersick & Associates in New Haven, Conn., which serves family businesses, offices and foundations. Former editor of the “Family Business Review,” Gersick is the lead author of “Generation to Generation: Life Cycles of the Family Business.” Gersick received his doctorate from Harvard University, where he served on the faculty, and has presented family business seminars in more than 20 countries. Registration is required. The program is open to forum members and their guests. A limited number of seats are available for family business owners interested in membership.
