UNC Asheville Offers Standardized Test Prep ClassesRegistration is now open for SAT, LSAT and GRE test prep classes offered by UNC Asheville’s Distance Learning and Extension Office. All classes will meet from 6-9 p.m. on the UNC Asheville campus. The SAT prep course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from October 10-26. The SAT is a standardized test required by most undergraduate colleges and universities for admission. Cost for the course is $275, which includes study materials. Registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 3. The GRE prep course will be held on Tuesday and Thursdays from October 11-November 3. The course is designed to increase familiarity with the various types of verbal, quantitative and analytical questions present on the GRE computer-generated general test, a standardized test required by most graduate programs for admission. Cost for the course is $325, which includes study materials and practice disk. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 4. The LSAT prep class will meet on Wednesdays from October 12-November 30 and Thursday, Dec. 1, excluding Wednesday, Nov. 23. The course is designed to prepare students for the December 3 LSAT, a standardized exam for admission to all 196 Law School Admission Council member schools. Cost for the course is $400, which includes study materials. Registration deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 5. Late registration is available for all courses for an additional $10.
