UNC Asheville's Society of Physics Students Receives National Award

UNC Asheville's Chapter of the Society of Physics Students was honored recently by its national organization, the American Institute of Physics' Society of Physics Students, with an annual Outstanding Chapter Award. This is the eighth time that UNC Asheville has received an Outstanding Chapter Award, which is presented to less than 10 percent of the 729 chapters nationwide.

UNC Asheville's chapter was selected for its outstanding efforts in bringing science to the community. Chapter members have taught in UNC Asheville's Super Saturday Program, given science presentations in area schools and created sky-watching sessions that allow area residents to view astronomical events.
