Professor;
Merritt Moseley Recognized as a Senior Scholar
UNC Asheville literature and language professor
Merritt Moseley was recently recognized for his many years of service
and scholarship by the Philological Association of the Carolinas.
Moseley was presented the award during a special session at the
organization’s annual meeting held earlier this month in Myrtle Beach.
Moseley is currently co-editor of the Association’s journal, Postscript,
and has served as president as well as first and second vice president.
Moseley, who joined the UNC Asheville faculty in
1978, is professor of literature and language and director of the
University’s Honors Program. He has published books on David Lodge,
Kingsley Amis and Julian Barnes and serves as the editor of the
“Dictionary of Literary Biography” volumes on British novelists since
1960. Moseley holds a doctorate from UNC Chapel Hill.
The Philological Association of the Carolinas was
formed in 1977 as a forum for literature and language scholars from the
Carolinas and surrounding states.
