UNC Asheville's Blowers Gallery to Host New Zealand Photography Exhibit
An exhibition entitled “New Zealand Landscape and Flora,” featuring some 40 color photographs by Marshall artist Roger Makepeace, will be on view September 3-30 at UNC Asheville’s Blowers Gallery. A reception will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the gallery. Makepeace will present a slide presentation at 7 p.m. during the reception. The show portrays images of New Zealand’s unusual landscape and flora. Makepeace’s fascination with the country began when he was in middle school and read a National Geographic article on New Zealand. He has visited the country numerous times as an adult. Makepeace, a native of Connecticut, is a self-taught photographer. He holds a degree in horticulture at the University of Connecticut and his photos reflect his interest in the natural world. This is his first exhibition. Blowers Gallery, located on the main floor of UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library, is open during regular library hours. For hours of operation, call UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library at 828/251-6546. Media Contacts:
