Award-Winning UNC Asheville Photography Student to Hold Exhibition

An exhibition entitled “Veracity,” featuring some 20 photographs by UNC Asheville senior Adriane McNeil Lewis, will be on view November 28-December 16 at UNC Asheville’s Blowers Gallery, Ramsey Library main floor. The show is the culmination of Lewis’ work toward a minor in art from the University. An opening reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the gallery.

Lewis’ black-and-white photographs with selenium toning illustrate self-portraits in reflections, abstract lines and reflections of landscapes. Lewis’ work earned her an honorable mention in the 24th Annual College Photo Contest sponsored by Photographer’s Forum magazine and Nikon, in which over 30,000 images were submitted.

Lewis will also exhibit color photographs documenting her study abroad experience in Freiburg, Germany. These images will be on view November 28-December 16 on Ramsey Library’s second floor, adjacent to Special Collections.
