"Bethel: Portraits of a Village" Photography Exhibit Opens at UNC Asheville
An exhibition entitled “Bethel: Portraits of a Village,” featuring some 30 photographs by UNC Asheville senior Olivia Korman, will be on view May 1-31 at UNC Asheville’s Blowers Gallery. The show is the culmination of Korman’s work toward her bachelor of arts degree at UNC Asheville. A reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the gallery. In the exhibition, Korman documents her experiences traveling in Nicaragua as part of her senior Interdisciplinary Studies project, “Documenting Culture,” which involves photography, anthropology, literature and language. As part of her thesis, Korman’s written observations will also be included in the show. Blowers Gallery, located on the main floor of UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library, is open during regular library hours. For hours of operation, call UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library at 828/251-6546.
