UNC Asheville Professor Receives Accounting Association Awards

UNC Asheville accounting Professor Glenn L. Helms has received two awards from the N.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants. Helms was one of eight accountants in the state to win the Outstanding Seminar Discussion Leader Award. This award is given to outstanding college professors and/or educators who teach from material that they did not write. Helms also received the Don Farmer Award, which is given to the discussion leader who has the highest score of knowledge and skills from participant evaluations. The awards will be presented at the NCACPA annual business meeting and dinner on May 1 in Greensboro.

Helms holds a doctorate in EDP auditing and information systems from the University of Houston where he was the Arthur Young Fellow in EDP Auditing. He also holds CPA, CIA and CISA certifications.
