UNC Asheville Faculty Awards Presented

The 2005 UNC Asheville annual faculty awards were presented at the final faculty meeting and at commencement.

The following awards were presented:

• Distinguished Teacher of the Year: Virginia Derryberry
   

• Ruth and Leon Feldman Professorship for outstanding scholarship and university service: Claudel McKenzie and Gordon Wilson
   

• Distinguished Teacher Award in Humanities: Grace G. Campbell
   

• Distinguished Teacher Award in Natural Sciences: Judith Beck
   

• Distinguished Teacher Award in Social Sciences: Surain Subramaniam
   

• Distinguished Teacher Award for Part-Time Faculty: Lorraine Griffith
   

• Distinguished Teacher Award for Untenured Faculty: Virginia Spivey
   

• University Service Award: E. Keith Bramlett
