UNC Asheville to Host Panel Series on Career Interests;
Two Talk Scheduled for November
Looking for an opportunity to network, gain wisdom and receive advice
from a variety of knowledgeable professionals? UNC Asheville’s Career
Center will host “Career Interest Panel Series: Connecting the Liberal
Arts to Career Choices,” which will give an insider’s perspective on
careers in a variety of fields. The talks, led by a range of local
professionals, will connect undergraduate education to actual workplace
experiences. Panel talks are free and open to the public.

UNC Asheville’s Highsmith University Union, Mountain Suites. The talk
will feature Melissa Church-Lawton, senior manager of bids and proposals
at the Constella Group; Dr. Greg Glance, internist at Asheville Internal
Medicine; George LeRoy, program coordinator of the Strengthening
Families Program at ARP Phoenix; Maria Roloff, vice president of human
resources at Mission Hospitals; and Terri Zimmerman March, Health
Promotion Program and Healthy Buncombe program coordinator at the
Buncombe County Health Center.
series will continue with a discussion on the effects of globalization
in the workplace at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in UNC Asheville’s
Highsmith University Union Alumni Hall. The talk will focus on the
importance of an international perspective within a variety of fields.
The panel will consist of William Angel, a meteorologist at the National
Climatic Data Center; Katie Cavert, former Peace Corps volunteer and
Spanish teacher at Carolina Day School; Patricia Digh, author,
consultant and co-founder of the Circle Project; Geri Solomon, founder
and executive director of International Link; and Chuck Wood, vice
president of human resources at Volvo.

diversity in the workplace and environmental science and policy.
