UNC Asheville Offers Educational Psychology Course for Lateral Entry TeachersUNC Asheville will offer an educational psychology course for lateral entry teachers as part of the University’s regular summer curriculum. The 300-level class will meet from 6-9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 6-July 29 at the Asheville City School administration building. There will be an online course component as well. Students will earn three credit hours in psychology. The course will examine applications of psychological theory and research to learning processes and the teaching of children. There will be an emphasis on developmental, behavioral and cognitive psychology, exceptional students, research methods and testing in educational settings. Students will explore teaching and develop lessons and strategies through the lens of educational psychology. Cost is $20 for the non-refundable application fee and $206.94 for in-state tuition. Out-of-state tuition is $1,519.16. Deadline to enroll is Monday, June 6.
