UNCA to Host One-Man Play "Vincent"
UNC Asheville will present a performance of the one-man play "Vincent" at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at UNCA's Lipinsky Auditorium. "Vincent," which was written by "Star Trek" legend Leonard Nimoy, will be performed by veteran actor Jim Jarrett. The performance is open to the public. "Vincent" is a multimedia play exploring the life and work of Impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh as told through letters and slides of his paintings. Jarrett's performance of "Vincent" has become one of the most successful one-man shows playing to audiences globally. Jarrett studied under legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater in New York. Jarrett has appeared in "China Beach," "Columbo," "Cheers" and various network and feature films. In 1994, he formed his own company Jarrett Productions. Tickets for "Vincent" go on sale March 29 and are $15 general admission. Call 828/232-5000 to order your tickets by phone between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased with cash or check only at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St., downtown Asheville.
