UNCA Senior to Exhibit Unique Fiber Art
and Printmaking Installation

"Tide"

"Tide," a printmaking and fiber art installation by UNC Asheville senior Kyoko Masutani, will be on view May 7-13 in UNCA’s Health & Fitness Center racquetball court. An opening reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 7. The opening reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

"Tide" features one piece made up of over 1,700 tea bags sewn together by hand. It is seven feet wide and nearly 30 feet long. The piece also includes the image of loose tea, printed using a plate Masutani created.

"Tide" is the culmination of Masutani’s work toward a bachelor of arts degree at UNCA.
