UNC Asheville's Music Department Kicks Off 2004-05 Season
EVENTS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL NOVEMBER 21 -- UNC Asheville’s Music Department will kick off its 2004-05 concert season on Sunday, Sept. 19, with an open house followed by a performance by flutist Judi Lampert. The events are open to the public. The Friends of Music and Alumni Open House will be held from 2:30-4 p.m. in Lipinsky Hall room 018. The free event will feature music, food and conversations with Music Department alumni, faculty, students and staff. Flutist Judi Lampert will take the stage at 4 p.m. in Lipinsky Auditorium. She will be joined by pianist Deborah Belcher, classical guitarist Roger Allen Cope and cellist Frances Duff. The concert will feature 20th century compositions from Argentina, Brazil, France and Italy. Admission is $5 at the door. Nine additional concerts are planned for the fall semester, including the annual holiday concert. Ten spring semester performances will feature jazz, string ensembles, the University singers and more. Season tickets for all concerts are available for $35 at the door of any event.
