UNC Asheville Students Receive Teaching Licenses
UNC Asheville's Education Department recently announced that twenty-six students received teaching licenses this spring. These students fulfilled their full-time internship
in K-12 schools in Asheville City, Buncombe County, Henderson County and McDowell County schools. Working with veteran educators, the student teaching semester is the culminating experience and includes all aspects of preparing and implementing lessons, managing and assessing students, and participating in a full range of extra-curricular duties.
The new teachers are: Wendy Capps, licensure in grades K-6; Billie Davison, 9-12 earth science; Lauren Deal, K-12 drama; Joseph Dixon, K-12 art; Holly Doe, 9-12 biology; Elizabeth Duquette, K-6; Gaelyn Evangreene, K-6; Gordon Hale, 9-12 social studies; Jennifer Hall, K-6; Jessica Hambly, K-6; Loralee Inglesias, 9-12 social studies; Kim Lachler, 6-9 science and math; Margaret Lee, 9-12 English; Suzanne Parenti, 9-12 English; Matthew Pospishil, K-12 art; Amy Quesinberry, K-6; Jennifer Reed, K-6; Laura Robinson, 9-12 social studies, 6-9 language arts and social studies; Cristi Shaw, K-12 art; Danny Shaw, 9-12 social studies; Keli Shuford, K-6; Mary-Catherine Sparks, 9-12 math; Amanda Waldroop, 9-12 social studies ; Jessica Weiss, 9-12 earth science; Ernest Wince, K-12 art; and Holly Wyatt, K-6.
