UNCA Celebrates Homecoming February 16-21UNC Asheville will hold its week-long Homecoming 2004 Celebration beginning February 16. Special events range from a Mardi Gras-style dinner and alumni reunions, to a parade and basketball games. Events are free unless otherwise noted. A number of Homecoming 2004 events are open to the public. They are as follows: ** February 19 -- A Mardi Gras Dinner Party will be held from 4:45-7 p.m. in the Dining Hall. Cajun specialities, including vegetarian options, will be available in addition to the regular menu items. Dinner is $5. ** February 20 -- The eighth annual UNCA Homecoming Parade rolls along University Heights at 4 p.m. A pep rally will follow outside the Justice Center. ** February 20 -- Noted magician and illusionist Mike Super will mystify the audience at 9 p.m. in the Dining Hall. ** February 21 -- Take a campus tour and check out the new changes with the University Ambassadors at 11 a.m. The tour will begin in the Karpen Hall Lobby. ** February 21 -- The men’s basketball team will take on Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. in the Justice Center. Admission is $6. The Homecoming Court will be presented at halftime. The women’s basketball team will face off with Radford at 4:30 p.m. in the Justice Center. Admission is $3. At halftime, the 1984 UNCA women’s basketball NAIA championship team will be recognized. Events for alumni include a workshop on creating an alumni chapter and an admissions training workshop. Reunions for the 1984 women’s basketball team, Underdog Productions, Alpha Xi Delta and Black Alumni will be held.
