UNC Asheville Wraps Up Fall Concert Season with Holiday Show

UNC Asheville’s Music Department will wrap up the fall concert season with a percussion ensemble performance and a holiday concert. Both events are open to the public. General admission is $5 at the door.

Under the direction of Byron Hedgepeth, the UNC Asheville Percussion Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. Highlights from the concert will include "Bomba" by Lou Harrison, "Music for Pieces of Wood" by Steve Reich and two pieces by Amadeo Roldan.

The annual UNC Asheville Holiday Concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. The concert band will perform "White Christmas," "A Canadian Brass Christmas," "Carol of the Bells" and "Sleigh Ride." Featured selections by the String Ensemble will include "Pantomine," "Sleigh Ride" and "The Journey of the Magi."
