U.S. Air Force Jazz Ensemble to Perform Free Concert at UNCA
UNC Asheville will host the U.S. Air Force Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, in UNCA’s Lipinsky Auditorium. The ensemble will perform under the direction of Master Sergeant Peter E. Aiello Jr. The event is free and open to the public. The Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble is the official jazz ensemble of the U.S.A.F. Heritage of America Band, which performed at UNCA last year. This dynamic 18-member ensemble performs the best in jazz music from the classics of Duke Ellington, Count Bassie and Glenn Miller to the contemporary sounds of Pat Metheny, Toshiko Akioshi and Bob Mintzer. Rhythm in Blue performs to over 50,000 people each year and recently shared the stage with Arturo Sandoval, Louie Bellson and the New York Voices. The event is co-sponsored by UNCA’s Music Department and the Cultural and Special Events Committee. For more information, call UNCA’s Music Department at 828/251-6432. Media Contacts:
