UNC Asheville Alumnus Holds Painting Exhibition on Campus

"Visualizing the Humanities: Paintings in Response to the Poetry and Life of Nelly Sachs," a mixed media exhibition by UNC Asheville alumnus Benjamin M. Betsalel, will be on view through August 29 at UNC Asheville’s Blowers Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in the gallery. The opening reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

"Visualizing the Humanities," 24-foot long mixed media painting, is divided and hung in three eight-foot sections. The piece celebrates the life of Nelly Sachs, a German Holocaust survivor and poet.
