"Visualizing the Humanities: Paintings in Response to the Poetry and Life of Nelly Sachs," a mixed media exhibition by UNC Asheville senior Benjamin M. Betsalel, will be on view May 8-June 6 at Oliver’s and Annabelle’s, located in the Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the restaurant. The opening reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

"Visualizing the Humanities" is made up of nine panels, which together create one 24-foot long piece. The exhibition is the culmination of work toward Betsalel’s work toward his bachelor of arts degree.

Betsalel is the son of Salli Gaddini and Ken Betsalel of Asheville and is a 1999 graduate of Asheville High School.
