UNC Asheville Celebrates French Week November 8-11UNC Asheville will celebrate French Week from November 8-11 with three special events. Presentations will be made in English. The events are free and open to the public. Rebecca Harris, UNC Asheville career counselor, will discuss "French at Work: A Tour of Careers" at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, in Carmichael Hall room 132. Pierre Lestieux, owner of the Paris Bakery and Cafe in Asheville, will discuss the French tradition of artisanal bread at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Carmichael Hall room 231. UNC Asheville’s French Week wraps up with a round table discussion on "French Views of America" at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in Carmichael Hall room 232. Four French exchange students will serve as panelists. Liz Laxague, UNC Asheville senior French major, will serve as moderator. A number of activities will be geared toward students, including a French declamation contest and a lunch for French speakers.
